The Jefferson County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District is governed by a board consisting of seven members appointed by the Jefferson County Commission and other organizations having a vested interest in public safety in Jefferson County.  Members serve staggered four-year terms.

Jefferson County 9-1-1 Board Members are appoint from the following organizations;

• (2) Two from  Jefferson County Commission
• (1) One from Jefferson County Sheriff's Office
• (1) One from Jefferson County Mayors Association
• (1) One  from Jefferson County Association of Fire Departments
• (1) One from Police Chiefs Association of Jefferson County
• (1) One from Central Alabama Fire Chiefs Association

Members serve staggered four-year terms
